Silent lucidity

Excepcional balada del grupo norteamericano QUEENSRYCHE
perteneciente a su album "Empire" (1990).

Hush now don't cry
Wipe away the teardrop from your eye
You're lying safe in bed
It was all a bad dream
Spinning in your head
Your mind tricked you to feel the pain
Of someone close to you leaving the game of life
So here it is, another chance
Wide awake you face the day
Your dream is over...or has it just begun?

There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run to in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize it and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the tears
And ride the whims of your mind
Commanding in another world
Suddenly, you hear and see
This magic new dimension

CHORUS
I-will be watching over you
I-am gonna help you see it through
I-will protect you in the night
I-am smiling next to you...in silent lucidity

If you open your mind for me
You won't rely on open eyes to see
The walls you built within
Come tumblng down, and a new world will begin
Living twice at once you learn
You're safe from pain in the dream domain

Crying

There was a time
when i was so broken hearted
love wasn't much of a friend of mine
the tables have turned, yeah
'cause me and them ways have parted
that kind of love was the killin' kind
listen, all i want is someone i can't resist
i know all i need to know by the way that i got kissed
I was cryin' when i met you
now i'm tryin' to forget you
love it sweet misery
i was cryin' just to get you
now i'm dyin' 'cause i let you
do what you do down on me
Now there's not even breathin' room
between pleasure and pain
yeah you cry when we're makin' love
must be one and the same
It's down on me
yeah i got to tell you one thing
it's been on my mind
girl, i gotta say
we're partners in crime
you got that certain something
what you give to me
takes my breath away
now the word out on the street
is the devil's in your kiss
if our love goes up in flames
it's a fire i can't resist
I was cryin' when i met you
now i'm tryin' to forget you
your love is sweet misery
i was cryin' just to get you
now i'm dyin' 'cause i let you
do what you do to me
'cause what you got inside
ain't where your love should stay
yeah, our love, sweet love, ain't love
'til you give your heart away

Wasted Time

Una de las mejores baladas de SKID ROW, extraída de su album "Slave to the Grind" (1991).

You and I together in our lives
Sacred ties would never fray
Why cant I let myself tell lies
And watch you die every day
I think back to the times
When dreams were what mattered
Tough talking youth naivete
You said you never let me down
But the horse stampedes and rages
In the name of desperation
Is it all just wasted time
Can you look at yourself
When you think of what
You left behind
Is it all just wasted time
Can you live with yourself
When you think of what
You left behind
Paranoid delusions they haunt you
Wheres my friend I used to know
Hes all alone
Hes buried deep within a carcass
Searching for a soul
Can you feel me inside your heart
As its bleeding
Why cant you believe you
Cant be loved
I hear you scream in agony
And the horse stampedes and rages
In the name of desperation
Is it all just wasted time
Can you look at yourself
When you think of what
You left behind
Is it all just wasted time
Can you live with yourself
When you think of what
You left behind
The sun will rise again
The earth will turn to sand
Creations colors seem to fade to grey
And youll see the sickly hands of time
Will write your final rhyme
And end a memory
I never thought youd let it get
This far, boy
I never thought,
I never thought youd let it get
This far, boy
I never thought,
I never thought youd let it get
This far, boy
I never thought youd let it get
This far, boy

November rain

When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same

'Cause nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

We've been through this such a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain

But lovers always come and lovers always go
An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today
Walking away

If we could take the time to lay it on the line
I could rest my head just knowin' that you were mine
All mine
So if you want to love me then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin' in the cold November rain

Do you need some time... on your own
Do you need some time... all alone
Everybody needs some time... on their own
Don't you know you need some time... all alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Sometimes I need some time... on my own
Sometimes I need some time... all alone
Everybody needs some time... on their own
Don't you know you need some time... all alone

And when your fears subside and shadows still remain, oh yeah
I know that you can love me when there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness we still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever even cold November rain

You're not the only one
You're not the only one
Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody

The Price

How long I have wanted
this dream to come true
and as it approaches
I can't believe I'm through
I've tried, oh, how I've tried
for a life, yes a life
I thought I knew
oh it's the price we gotta pay
and all the games we gotta play
makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
'cause it's a game we gotta lose,
though it's a life we gotta choose
and the price is our own life until it's done
time seems to have frozen,
but the mind can be fooled
as the days pass I discover
destiny just can't be ruled
hard times, oh hard times,
for the prize, yes the prize,
I thought I knew
oh it's the price we gotta pay
and all the games we gotta play
makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
'cause it's a game we gotta lose,
though it's a life we gotta choose
and the price is our own life until it's done
oh it's the price we gotta pay
and all the games we gotta play
makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
'cause it's a game we gotta lose,
though it's a life we gotta choose
and the price is our own life until it's done
oh it's the price we gotta pay
and all the games we gotta play
makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
'cause it's a game we gotta lose,
though it's a life we gotta choose
and the price is our own life until it's done

Don't talk to strangers

Don't talk to strangers
'Cause they're only there to do you harm
Don't write in starlight
'Cause the words may come out real

Don't hide in doorways
You may find the key that opens up your soul
Don't go to heaven
'Cause it's really only hell

Don't smell the flowers
They're an evil drug to make you lose your mind
Don't dream of women
'Cause they only bring you down

Hey you, you know me, you've touched me, I'm real
I'm forever the one that lets you look and see and
Feel me
I'm danger - I'm the stranger

And I, I'm darkness, I'm anger, I'm pain
I am master
The evil song you sing inside your brain
Drive you insane
Don't talk

Don't let them inside your mind, yeah
Run away, run away, go!

No - no

Don't let them in your mind
Protect your soul

Don't dance in darkness
You may stumble and you're sure to fall
Don't write in starlight
'Cause the words may come out real

Don't talk to strangers [Don't talk to strangers]
'Cause they're only there to make you sad
Don't dream of women
'Cause they'll only bring you down
Yeah

Run, run, run, run away!

Believe in Love

How does it fell babe
To taste sweet revenge
Do you want me on my knees
How does it feel babe
to let me feel your strength
Don't be cruel, can't you see
If you don't catch me now
I can't stop falling down
Just one more night and the devil's got my soul
I need your love babe don't tell me "no way"
Babe I miss you so much more than words can say

How does it feel babe
To kill our destiny
I swear I'm not gonna crawl oh no
How does it feel babe
To make a fool out of me
How can you be so cold
If you don't catch me now
I can't stop falling down
Just one more night and the devil's got my soul
I need your love babe don't treat me this way
Ooh I miss you, I miss you

Baby our love's got what it takes
To give us one more chance to start once again
Baby our love will find a way
As long as we believe in love.
